What mental health issues does Indonesia face, and are the drivers similar to other countries? Do those with mental illnesses face stigma, and what treatment is available to them?
In this Talking Indonesia podcast episode, I explore these issues with Dr Diana Setiyawati, director of the Centre for Public Mental Health in the Faculty of Psychology at Gadjah Mada University. Dr Setiyawati was one of two recipients of the inaugural Hadi Soesastro prize in 2014 for her PhD dissertation research at the University of Melbourne on developing a training curriculum for psychologists working in a primary health care setting.
