Talking Indonesia: tobacco control

Author

Dave McRae is a Senior Research Fellow at the Asia Institute in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Melbourne. He is also an Associate at the Centre for Indonesian Law, Islam and Society.

What are the drivers and impacts of high smoking prevalence in Indonesia? What steps could the government take to control tobacco, and what arguments are made within Indonesia for and against these measures?

In this week’s Talking Indonesia podcast, I explore these issues with Abdillah Ahsan, deputy head of the Demography Institute in the Faculty of Economics at the University of Indonesia.

Look out for a new Talking Indonesia podcast every fortnight, hosted alternately by Dr Dave McRae and Dr Ken Setiawan. Catch up on previous episodes here, subscribe via iTunes or listen via your favourite podcasting app.
