Alison Carroll

Alison Carroll is a Senior Research Fellow at the Victorian College of the Arts. She was founding director of Asialink Arts from 1990 to 2010 and organised many arts projects between Australia and Indonesia.

More than 20 years have passed since Soeharto left power, and many aspects of “Indonesian art” have changed, but as Alison Carroll writes, global curators’ ideas about what constitutes Indonesian art remain largely the same.
