Tirtawening is a lecturer in the Law, Society, and Development Study Program at the Faculty of Law, Universitas Indonesia. She is currently pursuing her doctoral studies at the Faculty of Law and Justice, University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney, Australia. She holds a Bachelor of Laws degree and a Master’s degree in Anthropology from Universitas Indonesia. Her doctoral research focuses on access to justice for child victims of sexual violence in Indonesia, particularly at the police reporting stage. She has previously conducted extensive research on women’s issues, including domestic violence, marriage, sexual violence, and female migrant workers. Tirtawening teaches courses in Legal Anthropology, Gender and Law, Law and Society, Indonesian People and Society, and Socio-legal Research Methods.
