Indonesia at Melbourne pitch guidelines
We strongly encourage authors to pitch their proposed article to us before writing it up. To do this, you need follow these guidelines:
What we want to know
Please send us a summary or the main argument of your commentary in not more than three to five sentences and a link to a news article that serves as a peg to your piece. It is fine to send us completed pieces, but we may not have the time to read all of them. It’s much easier for us to sort out good pitches and work with our contributors to turn them into good commentaries.
Write the topic of your article in the email subject
This will make it easier for us to determine whether your articles are timely, important and worth our attention. We usually receive 5 to 10 submissions every week but can only publish a maximum three articles per week.
Tell us who you are
As an academic blog, we greatly value the expertise of our contributors. That said, we also encourage emerging writers to send their work to us. It is therefore important that we know who you are when you pitch your article. We are not asking you to send us your CV. We only need a brief overview of your professional background to see if you are a person with a sufficient level of authority to write about the topic you pitch.
Please ensure that you read our editorial policy
Our editorial policy and guidelines can be read here. They will probably answer most of your questions about how we work.
